When searching for a species within the ALA import function you may find it says it has e.g. 1000 occurrence records, however when you import this into the BCCVL is says there is only e.g. 820 occurrence records (or rows). This is because the BCCVL runs a quick script that cleans the data and removes any found duplicate records. We still recommend that you download the species occurrence file to your computer and conduct further cleaning before re-uploading to the BCCVL and using in your models.
Why are there less occurrence points when I download a species from the ALA than was originally displayed when searching the species?
