The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) is a global database that holds records for animals all around the world. A species may have a difference common name for each place that it is found in the world, for this reason, GBIF only allows users to search using a species latin name and you will get better results if you use the species full latin name (i.e. Genus species - e.g. Ochotona princeps)
